The chainflex CASE as a sustainable solution

Our customer BSH Hausgeräte was looking for a solution that would enable them to efficiently unwind cables, avoid waste during maintenance, and save packaging material.

The solution was the chainflex CASE! Thanks to this solution, our customer could simply unwind the cables directly from the case in the warehouse, avoid unnecessary waste and was able to save 84% in shipping costs due to using a local courrier.

What is good for our customers is also good for the environment.

The customer was satisfied with this solution and we, in turn, were proud to have also protected the environment. Packaging materials were saved in the long term and no waste was produced due to offcuts. They also had and have the possibility of using the refill option and could save yet another 2.6kg of packaging waste.

This test case was an absolute win-win for igus and the customer.

Energy supply can be a challenge, especially on long travels.

Customers do not want to spend a lot of money unnecessarily, especially on cable replacement. Further disadvantages on short use cables is the growth of waste from old cables and the high energy consumption for producing new ones, in addition to the journey from production to use.

One of our customers faced these problems in an application with an indoor crane in a cement plant with a 32m crane runway.
