Service robots are machines that make everyday life easier and fulfil services. With semi or fully automatic function, they care for the well-being of humans. A distinction is made between service robots for private use and robots for professional service. All types of technically sophisticated robots are in use worldwide. They mainly consist of vacuum cleaners, floor mops and lawn mowers for households. The humanoid robots, who, for example, already do routine work in the healthcare sector without any problems, are now being utilised in the most diverse industrial sectors. Robotics play an increasingly important role in Industry 4.0. For this reason, the requirements for components installed in service robots are high in order to process information quickly and perform tasks reliably. The motion plastics manufacturer igus has the right solution for a wide variety of service robotics applications. Whether fail-safe chainflex cables for movement or self-lubricating and maintenance-free drytech components, igus ensures the optimum automation of your robot. Service robotics are available as: Cleaning robots, Robotic lawn mower, Vacuum cleaner robot, Window cleaner robot, Photovoltaic cleaning robots, Monitoring robots, Drones, Robots for bomb diffusion, Robots in care facilities, Robots in surgery rooms, and many others. igus® products are already in use in many of these service robots. This robot is used to thoroughly clean tubes of air conditioning systems. Here, six swivel arms are used, which can be adjusted to the respective diameter of the tubes. The swivel arms are mounted on igubal spherical plain bearings, which were able to convince by their freedom from maintenance.
Are you able to walk after a surgery? With this technology it is not wishful thinking anymore. It not only simulates compulsory walking but also stair climbing and overcoming obstacles. In order to ensure reliable movement, e-chains from igus are used.
This technology is used in disaster areas to save lives. It explores, for example, buried terrain and must withstand adverse environmental conditions. iglide plain bearings and igubal spherical bearings are the problem solver and provide absolute freedom from maintenance.
This exploration robot weighs only 38 kg with its complete equipment and consists of plastic for the most part. Metallic bearings are out of the question. iglide plain bearings are the problem solver. They are insensitive to dust, moisture and strong temperature fluctuations.
