Container vessels are becoming larger and larger, shipping alliances change and therefore the vessels that moor at ports. The cable management system on board the vessel usually is located at different positions with a deployment length from 115-180 ft. Container vessels

The IEC 80005-1 standard defines that the cable management system is located on board the vessel. This cable management system either is located on board as a semi-mobile system in a 40‘ HC container at a container space near the aft of the vessel or as a permanently installed system usually located more midships close to the engine room.
